Thinking of learning French, or German. They just seem like interesting languages to me.
I’ve been eating stroopwafels during SOLs now. It’s hilarious when people are like “what’s that noise”, they look at me then “oh, ok”.
I’ve been on virtual piano live recently, and it’s absolutely bonkers. The mornings are sparse and fine, the afternoons and evenings go completely off the rails.

beyond the obvious, i was somewhat fluent in toki pona and french. now i’m learning japanese and considering learning german. there were also a few other languages i picked up, then dropped, mostly ones that don’t use the latin script

It's important to remember that the marxist understanding - and indeed the understanding to which the oft-repeated 'opium of the masses' comment refers, - is that religions serve as a sort of 'stress relief' for society as a whole; specifically that religion materially serves as a comforting, - painkilling, to use the direct interpretation, - for the daily struggle of life and labor under capitalism. This of course relates to its role under and within capitalism, and removed from that context it must necessarily change. No religion is, in strict fact at least, an immutable doctrine unchanged by history the present material conditions. This is most typically understood as religion gradually withering away, as the contexts and material forces which predicate it become similarly distant, - it is of course easy, for those of us with no interest in matters of religion, to imagine a future where don't have to deal with anymore. Of course, again, we are discussing change; in real terms, its highly unlikely that religion will simply disappear entirely, and certainly you aren't going to really endear yourself to religious people - who may well be entirely genuine and educated socialists themselves, - by declaring that Socialism will Kill God, however nice it may be to say. More likely, its role in society will shift again, perhaps (Hopefully, perhaps,) to one of less immediate prominence.
